Integrations

CELUS Design Studio is a connector that lets Claude work on the CELUS platform for you. You describe the board you need in a conversation, and Claude builds the design in your CELUS account: it records the requirements, starts from a reference design, draws the block diagram and resolves it into CUBOs with a bill of materials (BOM). It can also pick up projects you already have, review them and optimise their BOM.

Everything Claude does happens in your own CELUS account, with your own projects and permissions. You can open the same project on app.celus.io at any time and carry on by hand.

What you need

  • A CELUS account. Sign in at app.celus.io to check it works.

  • Claude on the web, the Claude desktop or mobile app, or Claude Code.

  • On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, your Claude organization’s owner may need to allow the connector first.

Set it up

Find it in the directory

  1. In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors.

  2. Browse the connectors and search for CELUS Design Studio.

  3. Select Connect.

  4. A CELUS sign-in page opens. Sign in with your CELUS account and confirm access.

  5. Back in Claude, the connector shows as connected. Start a new conversation to use it.

Add it by URL

If you cannot find it in the directory, add it as a custom connector instead:

  1. In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors.

  2. Select Add custom connector.

  3. Enter a name, for example CELUS Design Studio, and this URL: https://app.celus.io/mcp-servers/celus-design-studio/mcp

  4. Save, then select Connect and sign in with your CELUS account.

Claude Code

Run this in a terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http celus-design-studio https://app.celus.io/mcp-servers/celus-design-studio/mcp

Then start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose celus-design-studio and sign in with your CELUS account in the browser window that opens.

How it works

What Claude can do

Area

What Claude can do for you

Requirements

Record what the project has to achieve, and update it when your requirements change

Projects

Create a project, open one of yours, update its settings, or clone it

Reference designs

Search the CELUS reference projects and start from the closest one

Block diagram

Read the design canvas and add, change or remove functional blocks and their links

Resolving

Run Find Solutions, show the design issues that block a resolve, and help fix them

CUBOs

Search the CUBO library, compare CUBOs for a block, and lock or unlock the CUBO a block uses

Components and BOM

Look up components and datasheets, find alternatives, and replace components in the BOM

Output

Generate and read the schematic PDF, the BOM spreadsheet and the CAD project package

Help

Design Assistant

Create a project and hand it to the CELUS Design Assistant with your brief, then give you the link

When Claude asks first

Tools that only read, such as searching the CUBO library or reading a BOM, run straight away. Anything that changes a project, and generating or downloading output files, asks for your confirmation before it runs. You can always see which tool Claude wants to use and with what input.

Things to try

  • “Design a battery-powered Bluetooth temperature sensor board on CELUS: coin-cell supply, an nRF52-class microcontroller and an I2C temperature sensor. Start from a reference design.”

  • “Open my CELUS project [project name], tell me what still stops it from resolving, and fix those issues.”

  • “Go through the BOM of [project name] and replace any end-of-life component, or any with a lead time over 12 weeks, with an alternative.”

  • “Check my CELUS project [project name] against its requirements and list anything it does not meet.”

The connector also offers four ready-made workflows: design a board, continue a project, optimise a BOM and review a design. In Claude Code they appear as slash commands; in the Claude apps, look for them in the connector’s menu in the message box.

Tips for good results

  • Give Claude the key requirements up front: power source, interfaces, sensors, size or cost limits.

  • Let Claude build the design in steps. A few blocks, resolved and checked, then the next few, works better than a whole diagram in one go.

  • Download links for output files are single-use and only work in a browser where you are signed in to CELUS as the same user.

Troubleshooting

Claude says it cannot reach CELUS, or the sign-in page does not open.

Check that you can sign in at app.celus.io. If you added the connector by URL, check the URL is exactly https://app.celus.io/mcp-servers/celus-design-studio/mcp. Then disconnect and connect the connector again.

Claude says the CELUS session is no longer valid, or it keeps failing after it worked before.

Your sign-in has expired. In Settings > Connectors, disconnect CELUS Design Studio and connect it again, then retry. Retrying without reconnecting will not help.

Claude says a project was not found, or that your account may not access it.

You can only work on projects your CELUS account can open. Ask the project’s owner to share it with you, or your CELUS administrator for the access you need. Also check you mean the right project: ask Claude to list your projects first.

A call fails and Claude says the CELUS platform did not complete the request.

This is usually temporary. Wait a moment and ask Claude to try again. If you asked for a change, check the project on app.celus.io before repeating it, in case the first attempt went through.

Resolving or exporting takes a long time.

Large designs can take a while. Claude reports that the job is still running; ask it to check again after a short wait.

A download link does not open.

Links are single-use and tied to your CELUS sign-in. Open it in a browser where you are signed in to CELUS as the same user, or ask Claude to generate a new one.

Something else is wrong.

Contact CELUS support and tell us which request you made, roughly when, and what Claude answered.

Privacy

The connector acts only on your CELUS account and only when you use it in Claude. How CELUS handles your data is described in the CELUS privacy policy. How Anthropic handles your conversations with Claude is described in Anthropic’s own privacy policy.

To stop using the connector, disconnect it in Settings > Connectors in Claude.
